Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas! Santa came!

The girls loved all the things that Santa brought. They played with their own presents, then switched. It was an hour of playing before they were remotely interested in opening presents.

The only thing Devin asked for for Christmas was home made cinnamon rolls Christmas morning.  

We played with toys and web chatted with family in the day, then had a dinner party with a few of our friends at our house.  It was one of our friend's Birthday that day, and she made this cake for dessert.  I didn't take too many pics, but we had so much fun with both the Andersons and Roberts.

We had a white elephant gift exchange after dinner, and this was the only picture we took- the lucky winner of the teenage Devin.

Christmas Eve!

We had a great holiday season. We stayed home and made some of our own traditions. While we missed family, it was nice to relax and focus on our little family and the true meaning of Christmas.

After dinner V wedged herself in the couch and couldn't get her arm out.

A Christian church hauled in 4 tons of snow for the public to sled! We got to have a white Christmas after all! We were so ghetto, we showed up with card board boxes and cookie sheets (why do we need sleds in the South??). Thankfully they had saucers to use.

The hill was so great- all lit up with lights around it, bails of hay, and two racing lanes. The girls LOVED it!

Cambers was fascinated by the snow. She held it until her little fingers were bright red. Then she chucked it and said, "Mine hands are just cold. I'll put mine hands in mine pockets, and mommy needs to put her hands in her pockets too." Thanks for watching out for me Cambers.

After sledding, we visited a few houses that had incredible Christmas lights that were synced with Christmas music. They even had a radio station that we could turn to. It was luxurious!

We made it home and got dressed for the nativity:

Cambers chose to be the shepherd and assigned Vienna to be an angel

Our Nativity consisted of wrapping baby Jesus in swaddling clothes over and over and singing "Away in a Manger" (Cambry's lullaby song for the past month).

Our "manger" hung on our wall all month and we added straw whenever the girls did something that would make Jesus happy.  They are so sweet to each other so much of the time- it was so great to watch their excitement each time they, as Cambry put it, "made Jesus' bed soft".

After the nativity, we decorated cookies for Santa...

Before bed, Cambers helped Dad put the cookies by the fireplace, so Santa could find them easily.

It's been awhile since I uploaded pics from my phone.  

I made this dress for Vienna for Devin's sisters' wedding. It was so cute on her.

This is Cambry and Vienna's in flight grandma when we flew to Utah for the wedding.  She was the difference between a relaxed flight and a nightmare.

She loves ladders since Vienna is so interested in them.

Back at the crazy bus. 

We saw Santa at the bookstore.  V loved him of course. She sat on his lap, petted his beard, and tried to pull off his glasses.  He gave her a candy cane, and she was so happy.  C, who wasn't interested in this stranger in the slightest, until she saw V with a treat.  She naturally wanted one too.  She slinked around the corner to where he could see her. He smiled and put his arms out for her to sit on his lap.  Cambers just stared at him. Finally, he held out a candy cane for her.  She hesitated then snatched it and ran away.  She is so funny.

Cambry just put her jammies back on top of her clothes.

Happy Birthday Devin!

Devin turned 28 on the 17th.  Happy Birthday to him! We sure do love him! He is our favorite guy in the world!  He treats the three of us like queens and princesses.  Thanks Mr. Rappleye for loving us!

For the second year in a row, he took the girls tin the morning to a park to play. When they got out of the car, both girls watched this tractor across the parking lot for several minutes.

We had a little party in the night.  All day long, Cambry sang Happy Birthday and was so excited to eat cake for "daddy's happy day!"
