Farm Days

Last week NC State was having Farm Animal Days. We showed up and it was so incredibly busy, we decided to do ice cream first and then go from there.

These kids are so fun and play so well together. I think Cambry uses her hood in really crowded and/or noisy places as a coping mechanism.

Vienna wanted to climb in with all the animals... or just to the top of their fences. 

Cambry was ecstatic when she saw the baby cow in there with the "daddy cow" (It's always daddy and baby animals, never the mom! haha).

 Vienna especially wanted to climb in with the beef cow.

They had a great time yelling at/with these turkeys. They both got laughing so hard at each other that they forgot about the turkeys completely. I love these two delights. 

It's a GIRL!

Wednesday the 10th we got our ultrasound. We had the tech keep the gender a surprise from us and put the photo in an envelope. We took it straight to our friend Summer's house who made us a pink/blue cake depending on the gender. We had lots of our dear friends over for a revealing party, and did face time with our parents. Devin and I were both so sure it was a boy, that we were COMPLETELY SHOCKED when I cut into a pink cake. We realized too late our camera was dead so we didn't get lots of pics, just a few phone pics, sadly none of the beautiful cakes!

Most of the kids were playing games the whole evening. The 2 older boys were fantastic at coming up with activity after activity! All the adults were very appreciative! We love Ryan and Pete!

For my own benefit, the people present were: the Meyers, Zeugshmidts, Pearsons, Buhlers, Burtons, Stef/Aaron Andersens, Liz Andersens, Lyons, Roberts, and John and Dianna White family.

Camera Clean-up

We got some new great wood blocks that everyone in the family seems to LOVE. Devin said, "I don't know who is more excited about these blocks, me or Cambry."  Cambry is pretty good at building.

One morning before Devin left for school, Cambry declared, "I'm going to school with daddy today." She got her back pack and filled it with her essentials: stuffed animal, stickers, and a Dora book. She put on her coat and met him at the front door... I had to think quickly and told her we were going to "mall school" to find all the lower case i's. It worked out well for all of us.

Vienna, still waking up from her nap, taking her little friend to find all the dandy lions. What a dear she is.

A Saturday morning walk. Vienna prefers not to leave the premises without her little Russian hat, and Cambry is obsessed with hoods.

We stopped for several minutes to throw rocks into the lake, which is always strangely satisfying.

Potty Training Round 2: last fall Cambry had lots of big job accidents, and I got to the point where I couldn't handle it and put her back in diapers. I kept waiting for her to tell me she was ready, but I realized- she's content in diapers, I'm going to have to give her the initial push and hope she runs with it. On Monday we tried again, and she's done great this week. This pic is Monday night as I'm starting dinner. Cambers comes in and tells me that she pee'd in her panties. I clean her up, and clean the floor. When I come back in to the kitchen, Cambry has spilled an entire box of spaghetti noodles on the floor and is walking in them and joyfully exclaims, "Look mom! I'm making hay!" Thankfully my second reaction to laugh get the camera overpowered my initial thought to strangle her. haha

Veena Bug always needs a second breakfast. While Devin and I were pre-occupied, Vienna went ahead and served herself, pouring herself a little cereal and A LOT of milk. Naturally she clapped and cheered for herself for being so independent. Kids are so great.

The Rest of Easter Weekend

Good Friday Joslyn got to see the Kenedy family sealed in the Raleigh Temple.  The dad got baptized 2 years ago after decades of going to church and taking the discussions with the missionaries. This is such an incredible family and we are honored to know them.

On Saturday evening, we went to our neighbor's birthday party for their kids, Blake and Chase. It was a ton of fun, but we didn't get many pictures because there some many people to meet and chat with. It was great.

This picture is classic. Cambry asking if she can dip her tortilla chip in pink lemonade and Vienna desperately asking (with tears) to have a cup of lemonade too, like her sister. These type of occurrences are both common .

The party favors had these bubbles on steroids in them. They were thick and sticky, but would last forever.

On Sunday, Joslyn made a delicious dinner with ham, Au Gratin potatoes, rolls jello and all sorts of deliciousness. It was just us and our friend, Gregory Lyon. Unfortunately, we didn't get any photos.

On Monday, we had an FHE lesson on Christ's resurrection. We did the glove analogy where our gloves are our body and our hands are our spirits. Put together, they make our soul and give the glove movement and "life." Cambry got one of her little mitts for the lesson. Vienna just wanted her hat.

Cambry then taught us how Christ made the Resurrection possible using her little model she made in nursery.

After the lesson, the girls found their Easter baskets.

We also got a package from G'ma Ber. Thank you G'ma Ber for the love and the package. The girls loved the package and the chocolate. Cambry placed the packing paper on the picnic table and place two chocolates on the table for her and Vienna for dinner.

After finding out that they couldn't have chocolate for dinner. We distracted them from their disappointment by giving them crayons to color the paper. Yay, it worked!

Every Day Life

Here's an outing at Lake Crab Tree on a windy day.

Cambry helping me make "Snicky-noodles". As she was rolling the dough in the cinnamon sugar, she says to me, "Mommy am I helping you?" to which I replied in the affirmative. She thinks for a moment then says, "You're welcome." It was a shame that all those cute little finger prints cooked out of the dough.

 "I'm being an airplane. Daddy, take a picture!"

Breakfast time. We pulled this table into the kitchen for the Easter hunt, but the girls love it so much, it stays in the dining room. The girls eat almost every meal here.

Now she's doing twinkle twinkle little star for her. You know, babies just need a little entertainment now and then.

Vienna's morning routine: eat breakfast, get coat, hat and shoes on, and try to escape.

Cambers and Veena opened this package from Grandma Rappleye and love their new loot. they love to carry their egg tin around with them.

Cambry while watching home videos of herself, saw herself wearing her apron and chef hat that she had forgot about. She went and found it, put it on and proceeded to finish watching the home video.

Dyeing Easter Eggs

Friday night before Easter we dyed our Easter Eggs. Cambry loved putting the little coloring tablets into the vinegar. (See my baby pooch?)

Cambers was a good sister and let Vienna drop one tablet in a cup.

Let the dying begin! 

We had a hard time grasping the fragility concept, and had 3 out of 12 eggs that WEREN'T broken.

Vienna was positive that these eggs were edible, and kept biting them, shell and all

Once the shell was off, she wasn't too impressed.

Cambers on the other hand, couldn't get enough of them. (Slight tangent- all of a sudden this girl EATS!! And not just grains and dairy! She pulls a chair up to the counter every afternoon when I'm slicing up veggies and eats about 1/3 of them.  Her favorites are bell peppers, cucumbers, and snap peas. I love this appetite she finally has!). As a whole, this was a fun family event.
