Cambry's Birthday

On Camber's Birthday, Joslyn took the girls to Pullen Park. During lunch, I was able to go down and join them since it's right by my school. Cambry got to ride in the boats - her favorite.

and swing in this super swing

Last time at the park, Cambry was terrified of the train. This time she asked to ride it. I'm not sure if she enjoyed it or not, but she didn't freak out. Joslyn and Vienna stayed on the sidelines and took pictures.

After the first train pic, I saw Joslyn booking it across the park with the stroller and all. Man, she was hauling. Alas, after all that effort, this was best Cambry would give her.

Cambry made a little friend at the park. They were so cute chasing each other around the playground. This was the first time that I saw Cambry recognize other kids at a park. It's fun seeing Cambry grow up and become more social.

When I got home, Cambry got to open presents. She was so excited about this book that plays music from her grandma Rappleye. Thanks, Mama! Look at that face.

We got her a quiet book for church. It might have been a bit early for her. She gets a little frustrated with some of the activities. Well, at least she is being challenged.

More presents from Grandma Rapp. She is opening a little puzzle board which she is really good at.

We found this sweet picnic table and sand table (in the background) at a garage sale.

Both Cambry and Vienna loved it.

Joslyn made this awesome Elmo cake. Of course, Cambry loved it.

Cambry wasn't so sure about fire being on the cake.

With a little 'persuasion', Cambry eventually tried to blow the candles out.

It's been fun to see Cambry enjoy her presents. She has been really good about sharing them with Vienna.

Her water table is her favorite present and she plays with it every day.  Look at this happy child!  Thanks Grandma Beck! We started having her wear her rain coat to keep her clothes dry.

Camera Clean Up

Cambry has discovered how to display her books in the window seal of our front room.

We all like an afternoon drizzle.

Cambry is really good at getting toys for both her bear and Vienna.  What a good little mama.

Just after messy dinner and before bath time.  These girls have such pretty eyes.

Vienna's an expert at flapping her arms.  Her left arm is going so fast, it's a blur.  Haha.

V enjoying the rain storm from the safety of the front porch.

C doing a little "pubble" stomping

C's new favorite toy: bubble wand.  Look closely- she's chasing down a bubble

Bummer this pic is blurry.  She was so cute smelling this rose.

NC State Arboretum Take 2

We came here in January when everything was dead except for Cacti.  Man, this is a BEAUTIFUL place!  If I ever get around to arranging family photos, this is where I want them.

This little darling building is the BATHROOM!! I was in love with it... still might make this a focal point for family photos.

So disappointed that it doesn't have a flowery smell.

I had no idea artichokes grew on bushes.  It was my first try seeing them "in the wild".  Loved it.

The Beach

Beach day was fantastic!  Vienna's first visit was only mediocre for her.  She liked sitting in the chair, but didn't like the sand or cold water.  Hopefully she'll like it more once the water warms up. Isn't this the yummiest photo?

The tide was low and the little pools behind me were ideal for Cambry- shallow and warm.

We took this pic right when we got there... Cambry is already in project mode.  Even when playing she's "working hard". She played so hard for several hours, she didn't want to stop to eat or drink (which made for a great nap on the way home).

I was a little jealous of this sleeping arrangement. So perfect.

My little parrot.  I poured water on her, and she had a great time pouring it all over me.  It's a great reminder to me that "do as I'm doing" isn't just a fun song.

Cambry loves "Just me and my Dad" time.  The kite was a big hit with them.

Thanks for carrying your weight Cambers. We'll definitely be back again.

Happy Birthday Cambers

Our Cambry girl is officially 2 today!  She is such a hilarious child.  She loves being the entertainer (at home, not in front of others), she runs everywhere she can.  She is so smart and can read emotions really well. She knows most shapes, letters, numbers 0-9, colors.  She learns on the go and has mastered most of these on road signs, licence plates, mailboxes, etc. She is particularly interested in spotting school buses, fire trucks, trains, airplanes, flowers, fire hydrants, trucks, flags, and teddy bears. She is a Daddy's girl through and through.  She loves Vienna, Elmo, nursery, bubbles, puddles, boats, her blanket and teddy bear, pizza, being tickled, and pushing Vienna in the stroller around the neighborhood. Her reset button without fail is going outside.

She loves trying out what she sees me doing.  Here are a few examples:
feeding Vienna (so sorry Vienna- it's the only time we ever let her try!)

dressing her bear (many times throughout the dayshe's changing her bear's diapers or nursing it. haha).

clipping her bunny's finger nails

Putting makeup on... I let her have some old eye shadow, and I was curious to see what she'd do with it, so I let her have at it.

And she's potty training her bunny... she's lost interest in using the potty herself. We'll pull it out again in a few months.

Here she is eating her first potty treat.

Cambry loves her "Nana". Vienna is the only one that is allowed to get close to her for extended periods of time.  Not even Daddy has this privilege.

We love you Cambry!  We love your silliness, your passion, your desire to help, your project mode, your energy, your happy giggle, your innocence and purity. Thank you for 2 wonderful years!
