Flag Football Tuesday Nights

Our Stake started their flag football tournament this week, so we walked over to the church together to watch Daddy. I forgot how fast Devin is! It was so fun to see him play.

Meanwhile, the girls were having the time of their lives frolicking around in the long grass that was almost to their knees. They giggled and squealed throughout the whole game. There are very few noises that are more enjoyable to me than listening to my children laugh and play well together.

"Look mom, I'm a grass princess." Doesn't she just look drunk with pure joy?

Another action shot. This was right before he ran down the field for a long bomb catch/touchdown, but I missed that photo because I got distracted watching the girls bury each other in the grass.

Its so rewarding to see how much they love each other.

Blue Moon Festival

Holladay put on a little festival that sounded promising. Turns out the main event was alcohol, but we were still able to have a great time. 

Our girls made a bracelet/neclace with their names on it, V's trying really hard to show it off.

Cambry also decorated a visor, and was so pleased about it. I can tell she feels extra cool while wearing it. It reminded me when I was her age and acquired a hand me down army camouflage shirt that I thought I was the coolest girl on the block every time I wore it... and I tried to wear it every day. At least her foam visor is more of an accessory and can be taken on and off with ease.

Their was a Reggae band playing called 2 1/2 white guys that was great for dancing.

Devin and I are so blessed with such happy, beautiful girls. We cherish nights like this.

Monday Night out on the Town

My girls are obsessed with trains. Whenever we pass one, it doesn't matter what we're talking about, we're immediately talking about trains. We decided for FHE to meet Devin at the downtown library, have a picnic and ride the train to temple square. Cambry was so excited she talked about it all day Sunday and all day Monday.

Here we are enjoying dinner on the courthouse grass. 

Just look how excited Cambry is! Gosh! It's so fun to do simple things that make them so happy.

Their were so many things to look at, their heads and bodies were twisting all over the place. This was the only pic we could get with them both looking the same direction. Despite their concerned faces, they had a BLAST!

We tried to have a mini lesson at the Christus, but Cambry was really so concerned about when we were getting back on the train, I don't think she heard anything.

We walked over to City Creek to play in the fountains before heading out. They both loved it, but Vienna was downright giddy.

Vienna was absolutely drenched, and went shirtless for a bit (yes we were that family). Thankfully, being back in the desert made it possible that her clothes were only damp by the time we got to the train, and completely dry by the time we got to our car. All in all a successful outing.

Silver Lake

After Baby Gwenyth's baby blessing and naps, we decided to go up to Silver Lake. We got a little treat on the way up. We got to see a leg of the Tour of Utah bike race. Since the canyon was blocked off for the race, we decided to watch bikers. They were seriously flying down the canyon. Some got clocked over 60 miles per hour.

Once the canyon opened up, we headed up to Silver Lake. The girls loved climbing the rocks...

...and picking some wildflowers as we walked.

The whole time that we were watching the bike race, Vienna was loading up the bottom of bike stroller with rocks. Once we were by the lake, Vienna knew exactly what to do with all those rocks that she had collected.

Cambry loved walking on logs and finding "secret" paths with Mommy.

Cambry has become quite the climber. It is one area of her life where she is quite fearless. She climb to the top of this rock face with NO help. I just went behind her and spotted.

Vienna didn't want to be left behind.

On our way back around from the lake, we saw these three moose in the wetlands.

They were still there when we got down there.

It was exciting, but also scary especially since there was a young one around.

On the way back to the car, I lost the girls. Come to find out they got caught up in watching a car get towed. I love my girls!

Summer Catch-up

Ahem. I took a sabbatical from blogging (and became terrible about taking my camera around. I'm just happy these days when me and the girls leave the house with clothes on our bodies, shoes on our feet, and our hair brushed). Thankfully Devin has kept up the blog. Hooray for my fantastic husband.

We got this amazing hutch and made it a family activity to paint it. Cambry loved painting. Vienna was done after she got her finger tips frosted in blue.

Baby Gwenyth had her baby blessing in my parents back yard a couple weeks ago. Here's the priesthood

We moved our girls into the same bedroom and they just party all night. They're getting better now that we made a bed chart for them that seems to help, but this was a common scene when they were first adjusting, cuddled up in the morning or afternoon with each other and their blankets watching Dora.

We went to the zoo with our friends the Reeses. Cameron insisted on holding Cambry's hand the whole time. Sometimes Cambry would let her.

Naturally, the statues were a bigger hit than the animals.

This polar bear is a great performer. He swims under water and pops out at the glass, letting the kids there cheer and/or wet their pants

My aunt Rose gave us a piano when we moved in, and we all love taking our turns playing it. Lots of times before bed, dinner, bath time, etc, Cambry will climb up on the bench and say to me, "Just a sec mom, I need to play a few songs first."

One night Devin was out late, and I took the girls to Liberty Park at dusk. Although I was somewhat afraid for our safety, this really was a great park, and the girls had so much fun.

Our New Place

At the end of July, we moved in this sweet duplex.

Around back is this nice carport. Our first time having our car covered. It's nice.

Behind the carport, we have our own little private backyard. Side Note: Sometimes, I find myself staring at that back corner and daydreaming about North Carolina. It's my little piece of NC.

From the carport, you enter into our kitchen.

That's right no dishwasher... we're surviving, just in case you were wondering.

Off of the toy room is the laundry/HVAC room and the girls' room.

It really is a perfect place for us and a complete miracle that we found this place. The other unit was listed on Craigslist and was taken within 3 hours, but our unit was going to be vacated soon. So, we dibsed it before it could even be listed. Our neighbor in the other unit is a sweet Grandma who had just served in the Raleigh NC mission. We both moved from NC to this duplex. It also is close to two bus lines that go up to campus. I can't help, but feel that the Lord prepared this place especially for us. We are so grateful He did.
