Camping FAIL

We decided to go camping with some of my siblings and their families early August. Every place had no vacancies in their camp grounds. My family was already up Big Cottonwood Canyon, so we decided to go for a hike up to Dog Lake by Brighton while we were up here. The wild flowers were in full bloom and absolutely GORGEOUS!!

Veena was pretty exhausted, and we were out of tricks with her. So Cambry and Devin went on to the top, and I made my way back down with Veena and Myla in the backpack.

We still wanted to camp, so we made our way to Grandma Beck's house and set up in the back yard. Jess and Mertle slept over too, while Jamey and Michelle did a late night with us. Plan B ended up being pretty fun anyway.

Silver Lake

One Saturday in July we headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon to take in some more mountain air at Silver Lake. WE LOVE THE OUTDOORS! 

We had our picnic lunch in nature...

and some of us had nature for a picnic lunch. This poor girl has been teething all summer long!

These guys love to climb on whatever they can! It's so fun to take them to places like this.

Myla was giggling so hard kicking these soft pine bushes- and getting her feet tickled.

Cambry was in her natural habitat here. Veena did pretty well too.

Fun in the Rain

We had a Southern rain storm right here in Salt Lake one night after dinner. The girls got in their rain coats as fast as they could, and made their way over to Jamey and Michelle's driveway where the good puddle is. 

Pretty soon Wellsy was out there with them too. He makes the best facial expressions!!

Wheeler Farm & Temple Square

Wheeler Farm is such a great time. The playground is fantastic, the animals are perky, the grounds are beautiful. When we pulled in, the playground was deserted, so we started there first. Last time we came here, there was a huge bus load of rowdy kids, and my kids honestly ended up playing with wood chips instead of on the playground.

After the bag was unpacked, she decided to explore on the pavement. This is how she crawls on hard surfaces.

Next we fed the ducks

I was so surprised at how brave Cambry is becoming. It's the first time she's petted animals besides cats (why does she love icky cats?!)

She even fed the horses some hay!!!

We took a ride on some tractors. Cambers said, "I want Daddy to see me on a tractor with my silly face."

The next day we went down town and rode the elevators up to the 26th floor in the Church Office Building. It rained earlier that day, so we couldn't go out on the observation deck for pics, but the girls thought it was pretty cool that we got to be up so high, and we were in the same building as the prophet and Jesus' special friends.

After that, we toured temple square. Cambry was naturally in her princess get up to visit her castle where she's getting married. 

Float Previews

I was brave and took the girls by myself to a super crowded expo center to see the Pioneer Day parade float preview. We had a lot of fun. We got to dress up at this booth and we all laughed really hard at this station. 

This wig was the only thing that V wanted. It was so hilarious. She was so sad she didn't get to keep the rug.

I was so surprised that the girls wanted to get their faces painted. V hates waiting in lines and C doesn't like to be close to people she doesn't know. This was the first time we've ever done face painting before. C chose to be a princess.

She was so pleased with it, and couldn't wait to web chat with Daddy to show him (he was out of town).

Veena was really adamant about a tiger. The lady told her she wasn't doing tigers today, and gave her some other choices of things she was painting that day. Veena still kept saying "I me want Tiger" (for some reason she adds that "me" in lots of her sentences). The lady finally gave in and this girl got her tiger face. As we were leaving this station, 2 Asian women asked if they could get a picture with Vienna. Ha! Wish i took that pic too! 

The girls were so excited to play with this giant globe.

And they got to fly in a balloon with the Prophet.

This was Cambry's favorite. All those gears were turning and the bees were flying around, it was a pretty technical float (her dad was so proud she chose this one).
