Rappleye catch up

Happy Valentine's Day!

We were going to send this picture out as a Valentines card (we kind of missed the memo that says once you're married, you need to make Christmas cards and give them to everyone you've ever talked to for more than 5 minutes) but our computer suddenly transferred to German and apparently we didn't understand the inquiry that said, "Would you like all of your photos to be deleted from your camera?" So after a little button mashing, all of our photos were gone from our camera. Luckily Devin is a genius and just found them somehow floating around in cyber space. My hero!
As shown in this photo, I chopped my hair and went dark... really dark. The clients at my work (substance abuse facility) like it, if that holds any weight...

They're finished!

When I lived in Austria, the host family that I lived with had curtains like this- long slabs of multi colored fabric. I hated them at first because I hated Austria. But the more Austria grew on me, the more the curtains did too. I wanted to bring a piece of it home with me. It's been an ongoing project for about a year. Who would've thought that sewing straight lines would take so long? but they're finished and up in our front room and I'm happy about how they turned out.

Remember the game Connect Four? We received it for Christmas from Devin's brother Neal, so when he and his girlfriend McCall came over, Devin and Neal were trash talking so much about who was the best, we decided to have a tournament. When it was all over, it was very important to have an Olympic-like ceremony for the winner. It still is not decided whether the winner is the most intelligent or the biggest dork.

In our last entry we have a ridiculous picture of both of us in the same pair of shorts. At my work for some reason a retail clothing company gave us several garbage bags full of clothing that was 2X and 3X. I picked up a couple of things as a joke but it turned into a sewing challenge. I thought I could make these pink shorts into something worthwhile. I just started cutting fabric and elastic and it seemed to be working out just fine and I was so proud of myself for figuring it out on my own. Then I tried them on... I don't know how it happened, but I made myself have inner thigh flapping wings! I tried to think of some sort of super power I could have with those, but the only conclusion I came up with was I better stick to sewing with a pattern.

  2. Hey Jos-The window treatment looks great. I love the red in there! I've never seen curtains like that, now I know where the idea came from. I also never knew that you hated Austria at first, all I remember is how much you loved it at the end. Thanks for blogging-I love it!
