Yesterday we had 62 Tornadoes touch down in North Carolina. We were really excited about this giant rainstorm that happened at our house, oblivious to the destruction that was going on just a few miles away. It was raining so hard it looked like it was foggy because it was just white streams coming down... But here are some pics of the real action that was about 10-15 miles away from us.

This is our local Lowe's home improvement store... or what's left of it. The roof just got peeled off and thrown around the neighborhood. Seems ironic that the place people go to get the resources fix their damage was the source of so much destruction.

This impassable highway made extremely difficult for rescue workers to get to those in need of rescuing.

Here's the Tornado that's about to touch down and make it's way into Downtown Raleigh.

Here's what it looked like at our house from the comfort of our 3rd story balcony.
Oh my scary!! Raleigh is all over the news this morning. The power of tornadoes is incredible! I'm so glad you guys are okay. Make a note-never live in a mobile home. Those poor unfortunate souls
ReplyDeletewoah! that's crazy! I guess it's kind of cool to see when it doesn't affect your own home. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's not much better out here. Everything is starting to flood.
