Independence Day!

July 4th, I woke up early and went for a great long run. I came home to 3 beauties and one beau ready to go to the neighborhood breakfast and parade. We at a hearty meal with friends, and decorated our wagon so patriotic.

For some reason when the parade started, all the other kids were off somewhere else, and Devin was the only one in the parade. We all had a good laugh.

Love these little patriotic flip flops (and delicious thighs). Myla isn't used to wearing shoes, and kept kicking them off.

The next adventure was Raging Waters, and it was so fun and really crowded at first, and thinned out shortly after we started playing for some reason.

Devin took the girls down a tube slide, and they loved it until the bottom when they fell off.

My favorite part was Myla got so tired that she fell asleep on me. This hasn't happened since she was about a month old, so it was a special treat.

That evening we took a picnic dinner to downtown Holladay with some friends and family.

M loves real food and will gnaw on whatever she can get her mouth on.

Hike!

V dancing to the great music- Peter Breinholt performed. Also, that Korean woman (Youngin) is visiting Devin's department right now- it's her first time outside of Korea. We showed her a good American time, and she is learning how to throw/catch a football with our friend's 2 year old.

We had a fun game of Kub going on.

Jess brought the bubble machine which was a huge hit with the kids

Veena and Rylee resting on the cooler with their animals

We still can't get over how beautiful these mountains are

At dusk we lit the sparklers, and Cambry was brave enough to try them out this year.

The fam + Youngin. Youngin seriously was the best. She was like a 5 year old kid as she was experiencing everything from an outdoor concert to sparklers, to Frisbee to the firework show for the first time. During the firework show, she said to Devin: "I feel like I'm in space."

After the first couple of booms of fireworks, Cambry and Myla really enjoyed it. Veena spent the whole of it plugging her ears and snuggled up to Devin, mostly with her head in his chest.

It's amazing that such a little city can put on such a great firework show!

Cambry snuggled Devin or Grandpa Greg at the really exciting/loud parts. Veena kept up this position.

Myla gave me another gift of snuggling extra close to me as we watched. This whole day was perfect. Happy Independence Day!
