Pi (π) Day

on March 14th, (3.14) we had a bunch of friends over to celebrate Pi Day- by eating pie naturally. It was delicious!!

Cambry wasn't sure about sharing her chair with the adorable Jack Jack

All the guys brought it in for a little Pi fun and figured out how to derive Pi by dropping a toothpick on a paper that had 3 lines in it. Thankfully we got this picture (even if it's blury), I can't make this stuff up.They had their calculators out and everything.

Meanwhile the women did what we do best: gab. It was a definite success.

Museum of Science

"Hey mommy, can you see me in this grass with this bug? I'm just right here." I love this girl

Comparing claws with her good buddy T-Rex

Cambry is politely testing out her limits lately (Can I throw your phone away? Can I make a mess on your bed? Can I hit you Daddy? etc.). Here she is saying, "Can I stick my hand in that mouth?" She keeps us laughing.

Vienna LOVED spinning this little globe around.

"Mommy, let's both say cheese."

This month is Titanic month for some reason at the museum.  They have the replica of the front of the ship, and the green screen that they used on the movie- who knew that they didn't actually film on a replicated ship??

Cambry doing "flips"-basically falling backwards off the top of the couch onto the pillows.

This child has her mother's genes for sure.  She wants to be wrapped up in a blanket even when it's 70 degrees outside.

Camera Clean-up

Museum of Life and Science... I had about 3 ounces of energy this day, so when they crawled under the little display fence and climbed into this car, I took a pic instead of wrestling them out.

Lately my girls have become proficient touch screen button mashers, so I don't think they saw too much more than these screens at every exhibit.

We went into the submarine simulator. Cambry thought it was great until the surround sound music and tutorial turned on.  She said to me through tears, "We need to go mommy.  This is a really really scary place!"

Back yard fun

V loves her little purse. She carries it (and leaves it) everywhere.

Cambers put these on their heads and said, "Hey look! We're wearing our swim suits." She is also really good at scrubbing Veena bug clean.

This girl is obsessed with hats. Cereal boxes will do when hats are not available.

Cambry loves being in her "cage". She pulls a few books in there and has a great time, until the little sister knocks it down.

Happy Birthday, Joslyn!

Joslyn is such a good mom to the little ones. She has so many gifts and talents that would have contributed to a very successful career, but she chose to apply them to raising our kids. We (the kids and I) are so lucky! She gives so much to us and those around her. At the end of each day, she has literally given everything to the kids and me. She makes us so happy. Life is so great with her!

For her birthday, Joslyn went to a relief society conference. While she was gone the kids and I got things ready to party.

Vienna worked on decorating the windows by slobbering all over the blinds cord. (Side Note: She has like 6 teeth coming and apparently running the blinds cord over her gums helps)

Cambry was all over wrapping up presents. She was so into it that after all the presents were wrapped she kept finding things around the house to wrap up and give to mommy.

It was beautiful weather outside. So we all played outside for the afternoon. Here's Cambry waiting to catch Vienna at the bottom of the slide.

You are about to witnessing two amazing achievements. 1. The swing set actually supported my weight. 2. I fit through that tiny opening and on the slide. I had to show off for the wifey on her birthday.

So we've have become really bad at taking pictures. This is all we got of the birthday celebration. 4 candles stuck in the apple crisp. The girls were more interested in eating the candles than the apple crisp. But, after they tried both, they happily ate their plate of apple crisp.

Valentine's Day

We sent this pic out to our family for our big announcement...

We are so excited to have another little addition to our family!! Our girls will be great big sisters.

Here they are blowing kisses sporting their new socks and cups from Grandma Beck and Grandpa Greg.  Thank you!  They also got a great package from Grandma and Grandpa Rappleye, but I've seriously been dropping the ball so much lately, I didn't take pictures (but we're still really grateful and they love their cup cake animals!!) I never fully appreciated packages until having children that feel the excitement of opening the box that shows up on your doorstep!

Devin made me breakfast in bed and left me little heart messages all over the house.  They were so fun to find throughout the day. That afternoon I wasn't feeling great, so before Devin got home, I went and picked up a heart shaped take-n-bake pizza.  When we got home Devin surprised us by being home early and already made this pizza.  What a great guy!  Our kids thought it was the best that we got to eat pizza all weekend! Cambry also is now aware that pizza dough can be shaped.  Last time I made pizza she asked for a car shaped pizza!

We hope everyone got to have a Happy Valentines!

Phone Clean-up

For the past 2 years, I've made our bread.  But I've felt a little sub par lately, so I finally resorted to buying a loaf. As I was putting the groceries away, Cambry picked this off the counter and said, "What IS this mommy?" Haha (side note: this silly green leotard is her FAVORITE costume. She'd wear it every day if I'd let her).

We all got the stomach bug the other weekend. Well, all of us except for Vienna.  We were all dying, while Vienna... wasn't.  Here is a calm moment where poor Devin slept while his little fan club snuggled him and watched a movie.

During "Alphabet Time" on this morning, we went to find letters at the mall before the it opened.  We stopped at these mechanical cars for the girls to climb on.  This cute little old man that was doing the mall walk exercise, pulled out his wallet and bought them a ride in the little animal ambulance.  They were so startled that these actually move!!

Date night at Mellow Mushroom.  This place has reconverted me to pizza.  Even dessert was delicious: Fresh from the oven choc chip cookie with ice cream and chocolate drizzle.

This girl loves her costumes.  She intently made sand pizza dough over and over.

I finally found the best playground for Vienna.  It is all tunnels and climbing up/down different levels.  No slides, lots of ladders and stairs. Best thing ever for this super climber.

Winter Weather

We have had an unusual amount of snow storms this year, uh like 3. We had a legit snow storm on Saturday with big snow flakes and packable snow that actually stuck.

I taught the girls all the snow playing essentials, like catching snow flakes on your tongue.

Cambry was a little hesitant, but Vienna was all in.

Another essential is rolling snowballs to make a snowman. Cambry did great. Vienna wouldn't keep her gloves and didn't like how cold the snow felt on her hands.

The finish product. Cambry installed an arm, an eye, the nose and one stick on the top of her head (no boy snowman should be caught wearing that beanie) that worked well for holding on her hat. Nice work.

A little side note: When Joslyn went into get Cambry up, Monday morning, she was out of bed and peering out window and said: "Hey, look there's the snowman. He's all dirty. He needs to take a bath."

We also had an ice storm blow through the last week of January. It covered everything and made these ice pedals with texture and all. Isn't science and nature amazing!

The girls had a good time peeling the ice pedals off and breaking off icicles

Yes, Cambry is still in her pajamas, but they are warm.

Some more impressive displays of nature.

I guess that we haven't had that hard of a winter. The girls are still able to frequently visit parks. We also were able to get a swing set! Our ward and friends helped us a lot in getting it and setting it up.

The kids love it.
