18 months and 2 months

Our babies turned 18 months and 2 months on the same day, so I thought- why not gets shots and checkups over at the same time?  Crazy! We survived, but just barely.  Here are some things we love about them:

VIENNA: 90th Percentile in height and weight.  

• She has been sleeping through the night since she was 6 weeks old
• She is so content.  She lets Cambry take center stage, and allows Cambers to sit on her, find her eyes , ears, nose, etc, 
• She is a smiley happy baby.
• She is such a snuggle bug.  She love nuzzling up into my shoulder.  When people hold her, her snuggle seams to allow them to let go of stress.  It works like a charm every time.
• She takes naps in her car seat AND stays sleeping once the car stops, drinks from a bottle when needs be, and takes a binky (all new things for a baby of mine).
• She has the cutest chins and thigh rolls (mandatory in my book for an extra cute baby).
• She has beautiful dark blue eyes like her daddy.

CAMBRY:  90th Percentile in Height, 75th in weight.  The Doctor said, It's a good thing she's smart because her stats make it look like she's 22 months.

• She's super curious.  It makes for more messes to clean up, but it's so fun going on these adventures with her. 
• She has more energy than any toddler I know. She doesn't walk, she runs.
• She recently grasped some of the concepts of praying, and will kneel down and fold her hands in her lap several times a day and look at me expectantly to kneel down with her and pray.    
• She gets excited about simple things like a bus driving by or seeing a balloon.
• She's very observant.  I had her up on my counter as I was getting ready the other day and she started picking up products, makeup, and brushes one by one and imitating what I do with them.  I was astounded at how accurate she was.
• She really is a loving, protective big sister.
• She goes to nursery without looking back at us.  She loves it- the kids, the toys, the freedom to explore.  When Devin picked her up she was intently examining the hinge on the toy cupboard. haha.

Just Another Day in Paradise

Here are a bunch of pics that capture our days.  

Several times a day, Cambers comes over and "kisses" our little one.  It's either an a) open mouth slobber, or b) touching her chin on Vienna. Vienna seems to be fine with either.

One of Cambry's  more recent favorite past times is washing her hands in a sink full of bubbles and toys. Just in time for flu season :)

On our road, the school buses stop about every 100 yards to let kids on and off (is school transportation promoting childhood obesity??).  Apparently at the last stop this car got sick of waiting and tried to drive under the bus.  Haha. it was COMPLETELY wedged under the bus.

I can't tell you how many bumps and bruises this child has from trying to walk around in our shoes.  Haha.  She is always making us laugh.

This is the Lake Pine trail that I take the girls to a few times a week for a little run.  It's a 2 mile loop around this gorgeous lake.  In my mind I can still run a marathon at the pace of a 9 minute mile (even though that was pre broken leg and children).  I have to laugh at myself when I'm frustrated that I'm sucking air and can only go around the lake twice at about an 11 minute mile.

I take them right after Cambry wakes up from her nap.  She finishes waking up and eats her snack on board.  Vienna usually sleeps the whole time thankfully.

This week Vienna started smiling a lot.  She's such a cutie.

After discovering that one of the screws fell out of Cambry's crib, Devin tightened it up. It's sad to no longer hear the endearing squeaks of the crib when Cambry is "falling asleep."  Cambry was right there intently watching. After he was done, she took the screw driver from him, and did exactly what Devin just did.  So smart.

Yes Vienna, you're silly smile still makes you the cutest.

I still can't get over that sweet curl Mohawk she's got going on.  

Stretching it out.  She's getting some awesome rolls and chins.  

On an afternoon exploration, we found a bridge where C was completely enthralled. She threw rocks and pine needles into the water for several minutes. Good cheap fun.

The Walmart by our house has been under renovation forever.  We went the other day and apparently it was the grand re-opening.  They had a sweet Hispanic band, big teddy bear mascot, games and prizes. Cambry danced in front of the band for awhile, and I thought I'd get pics on the way out... When we came back out 15 minutes later, it was all gone!  so strange! If Cambry didn't get a sweet balloon bunny, I would've thought I imagined the whole thing.

 This park is so beautifully secluded by all these trees.  

I had no idea I was missing out every autumn.  I have never seen fall colors so vibrant.

  This chap was so fantastic.  He and his friends were hanging out at the park, and he was serinading them with his sweet clarinet.  I kept waiting for one of his friends to say, "Lose the squeaker!" But none of them ever did. So glad 10 year olds have more tact than I do.

We finally got a lattice fence on our balcony.  That gap at the bottom is HUGE!  Poor Cambry never could go out on the balcony without me hovering over her.

Durham Museum of Life and Science

NOTE:  I posted like 6 new posts today so keep going :)

We had play group at the Museum of Life and Science today.  We waited in the gift shop for stragglers in our group to show up.  I love this pic: Cambry's friend is hugging a snugly pink unicorn. Cambry is fascinated with this flashlight and trying to take it apart. 

Outside they had a really cool playground that reminded me of the old Tanner Park in SLC.  It was all wood bridges and climbing towers.  Cambry had a great time.  Every step she says, "up" regardless of whether she's going up or down.

 This wind chime station was awesome.  Dust pans, metal milk bottles, fire extinguishers.  Cambers was content clapping in front of it and let lesser kids actually touch it.

Our outside time ended soon after she found the puddles.  

She never made it in the space ship, just got close enough to look inside it.

This table  captured our attention for several minutes.  That big metal disc spins, and we'd put the little discs on it and it flings them off. Seriously, it was captivating.

The point of this station is to have the rocket catch the satellite. Cambers had a great time button mashing.

Is that surprising Cambry that monkeys made it to space?

The Butterfly House made me remember how much I love humidity when it's warm. It was so toasty and the air was nice and thick. Cambry made sure to pet all the plants within her reach.

 Oh ya, Vienna was there too. Man, she's such a content baby.  She just snuggled up to me and hung out.  She cooed a few times, but other than that I didn't hear very much from her.

The tree frogs were really active when we were checking them out and Cambry ate her whole bag of snacks in front of this exhibit (for a girl who's always on a mission, that's saying something).   

We had one of our Southern storms while we were leaving.  Poor Cambers got completely drenched because she was leaning over the side of the stroller watching the wheels go through the water

Vienna's Baby Blessing

Devin blessed Vienna in church October 30th.  It was a sweet blessing, and we're really happy to have our little peace maker in our home.

Halloween

Halloween was great to have a joint theme with our girls.  Our little monkey and banana were so fun.

We had an indoor trunk or treat  a few days before Halloween.  Luckily Karate Kid made it to the jungle (Note Devin wearing a machete and a mullet.  Nice).

Cambry wasn't really in to trick or treating.  She only stopped at places where there weren't any other kids, didn't reach out for the candy when it was offered, and didn't

 want people to touch her or her bucket.  Hmm... She did manage to get a few pieces in her bucket.

And she had her first piece of chocolate.  I think she liked it

Later that night, when I was digging through her candy bucket, I found a piece of candy that she had bitten through the wrapper trying to eat it.

On Halloween Night, it was cold and rainy (why is it always SO COLD on Halloween??), so we went to the mall for some indoor trick or treating.  

Again, she was really into getting candy...
