Vienna Jean is Here!!!

Vienna Jean came on Wednesday at 2:14 pm weighing 8lbs 3 oz and measuring 20 in.

Vienna's due date came and went, and I was still pregnant.  My midwife told me at 37 weeks that I was pretty dilated, and by 38 weeks I "could have this baby anytime."  Honestly- those words should NEVER be told to anyone, and I felt like I was very overdue at 39 weeks... At 40 weeks, I was miserable and felt eternally pregnant.  So at 40 1/2 weeks, I was induced.  Thankfully, my mom made it into town the night before, and was able to be with Cambry while we were at the hospital.

I had no idea labor could be so easy! I got an epidural before I had pain.  The midwife broke my water about 10:30 am on Wednesday.  We chit chatted with the nurses, watched some day time TV, and I even took a little nap.  Before I knew it, I was fully dilated. I told the staff that my first labor was very quick, and Cambry came after two pushes.  So when it was time to push, immediately in walked a whole slew of people in scrubs, all manning their different posts.  This labor was longer... In a series of 4 contractions- about 5 minutes, Vienna was born at 2:14 pm.

Just enjoying labor.

It was so interesting the difference in the way our babies came out. Cambry fired out like a rocket so anxious to be released from confinement. Vienna gently slid out and really didn't make much noise.

Mom's first time holding Vienna.

Cambry was so curious at first about this little heap of flesh. She became less and less curious and seemed to be annoyed that every time she'd come to the hospital to visit and Vienna was still there with her parents.

Now the family is more complete.

She's not sure how she feels about being this close to her.

The Beck was such a big help with Cambry. The first day, Cambry wasn't quite sure what to do with the Beck. By the second day, they were best buddies.

Playing with Grandma Beck at the hospital.

She has so much dark hair!

Devin made this cute sign and got some super cute balloons that make Cambry's eyes light up every time she sees them.  Hopefully at some point she'll feel similar about her sister.

  4. Oh my gosh! I love this post! All the pictures are so precious! I espeically love the one of Vienna on the scale! I feel like I can see all of her in all her glory! What a pretty little face and so much hair! So cute! I love the picture of Devin holding her, do I detect teary eyes? I wouldn't be surprised if Devin is one of those dads who is actually moved by his child's birth. I also love all the pictures of Cambry with Vienna! In fact, I think I have one of Lily holding Ava after she was born with the same face that Cambry has in that pic! Don't worry they will be best friends in no time! Lily and Ava are! But Lily never really liked holding Ava when she was little enough to hold! Your labor sounded so fantastic! Glad you enjoyed it! Love you guys!
