Every day life phone pics

I have a collection of glimpses into the past 2 weeks:
The beautiful Jordan River temple. My first time going to a session since having Myla 5 months ago. She's doesn't take a bottle, so it's been a little tricky. But now she's consistently asleep for the night at 6pm, so I am at ease about being away for multiple hours.

It turned into a family outing with Jamey, Jess, Dad, and Grandma Ber.

I got the costumes out recently, and put Myla back in her banana Halloween costume. I couldn't stop laughing at how cute she is and how tight it was on her.

Lately, every day, they're princesses. We have battles just getting dressed EVERY morning, but now that they get their princess costumes to put on over their clothes, they get dressed with exactly 0 tears, and minimal whining and moaning. (note: they are both standing on their respective princesses on the floor puzzle. C is really big into everything "matching" these days).

The Vatican allowed one replica of Michelangelo's "Pieta" sculpture to be made. However, when it was being chiseled out, the marble had a large purple "vein" on Christ's chest (I guess it didn't show up in the pic). The people buying this sculpture didn't like it, so they paid to have it replicated again. Somehow this teeny Methodist church in SLC got this incredible replica. I haven't visited it since high school, and I took the girls to it. I talked to them about Christ's death and the resurrection. Veena didn't hear much of it. That whole day she would randomly say "Jesus. Mom. Sad. Die," followed by fake crying. What a drama queen.

It snowed probably 1/8 an inch, and we suited up and went sledding, made snow angels, and the girls ate all the snow they could off their mittens (gag).

The day before it snowed, we were playing outside in the 50 degree weather, and Cambry climbed up on the fence and said, "Hey mom, it's spring in the backyard. You have 3 minutes to get all the leaves out of the sandbox." haha. I'm always setting timers for her to accomplish things. So funny to hear yourself come out of your 3 year old's mouth.

Myla's pediatrician said start solids at 5 months. So at 5 months, 1 week, I remembered, and gave sweet potatoes a whirl. She ate it like a popsicle, wouldn't open her mouth, just licking it. She loved it, but I forgot how much work it is! Five minutes and half a teaspoon later, I decided I'll wait a little longer to start this.

Cambry took this pic. "Mom, Myla is so cute. Look at her. She is the cutest. just laying there and smiling at me."

It's been warm enough to go for bike rides around the neighborhood, which we all love.

Sometimes when I see the girls' little body parts, like V's hand under mine, I'm startled at how young they are, and how incapable they are to survive by themselves and just how much they need me. It gives me greater appreciation to be able to do things like read Cinderella to them for the 600th time.

We had our friend Sarah and cousin Rylee come play, and we had some serious girl power going on!

The before dinner time of day has greatly improved since Jamey and Michelle moved in next door. Uncle Jamey gets home from work and pushes the kids in the swing (mine and his),  pulls them around in the sled (who needs snow?!), and gives them some much loved tickles.

  1. The Pieta! Honestly, I can't wait to go and see that. It was my absolute favorite when we went to Italy.
