Layton Marathon was September 27th. It started on Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake. We all had to be bused out there at 4:30 am. It was POURING rain!! Bolts of lightning were lighting up the sky a little too close for comfort. I half expected/hoped the marathon would be cancelled. But it wasn't. We all hung out on the buses until about 6:27- giving us a couple minutes to stretch out before it started at 6:30. Here I am about to brave the tropical storm.
The first half of the race felt great, and then it felt great at the end that I pushed myself further and faster than I wanted to go. I ended with a time 3:57. After my Deseret News Marathon fiasco, it was a great self confidence boost.

Turns out I finished first in my age group and got a gold medal too!
