Grandma Ber

Last September my Grandma Ber found out she had a HUGE cancerous tumor on her ovary. We didn't think she'd make it through the surgery to remove it. But she was spared almost an entire year, most likely more for her posterity to enjoy her and love her longer, than for her to complete any unfinished business. She was an angel long before she left this world.
I took a picture of her hand in mine the day before she died in hopes that I could remember always to work, love, serve, pray, and live like her.

The day she died, one of my aunts got a pair of Grandpa Fuddy's pj's out, got a pic of him, and layed it next to her in bed. There's always humor of some kind happening in the Frampton family.

We visited Grandma lots and lots over the summer. Each time we went in, Myla went straight to the treat cupboard and acted like she was so surprised treats were in there, and was so pleased with herself for finding them. Weasel.

She looked so beautiful and so much like herself in her casket.

Her Obituary:

“Grandma Ber”

Our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and friend graduated this life and became an angel on August 25, 2015, passing on with dignity and grace, and leaving the world a much better place because of her long life, well-lived. Berylene spread joy and light everywhere she went and influenced thousands by her endless capacity to love. She truly lived the principles of abundance and generously gave of her time, her energy, her talents and her good cheer to everyone she met. Berylene’s love language was chocolate, and she shared her deliciousness far and wide. Her life was a model of selfless service especially to her family for whom she has been an extraordinary example of love, leadership, hard work, faith and humor. A life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Berylene served willingly and well in many callings in every auxiliary and particularly loved the years she was able to serve missions with her sweetheart, Dan.

Berylene was born in Salt Lake on August 27, 1931 to Grover Fletcher Coshow and Alice Vilate Brinton. She married Dan Doxey Frampton in the Salt Lake Temple on May 28, 1951 and together they have eight children: Cozette (Barney) Carlson, Sam (Meridee) Frampton, Becky (Greg) Airhart, Jane (Dick) Goulding, Bruno (Shauna) Frampton, Sylvia (Lindsay) Thomas, Jason (Shelley) Frampton, and Heidi Lawrence. Preceded in death by her husband, Dan, parents, siblings Alice Griffin and Bud Coshow, one granddaughter and one great-grandson; Berylene is survived by her children, 35 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and sisters Rose Coshow, Audrey Fowles and Mary Ballard. Special Thanks to Ann Wolters and Valeo Hospice, Kerry Green and Karen Morgan for service above and beyond.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 5, at 11:00am at the Holladay South Stake Center, 4917 South Viewmont Street, where friends and family can visit Friday, September 4, from 6-8pm and Saturday from 9-10:30am prior to the service. Interment at Holladay Memorial Cemetery.

No empty chairs. Continue the Legacy.

Grandma's favorite flowers were daffodils and when she realized she wasn't going to die in the spring, she decided to make a quilt that could cover her casket, so she could still be covered with dafodils. She really thought of everything.

She had several tables set up with different categories honoring different attributes.
In the summer, she made 1,000 of her Bertle chocolates and froze them to be given out at her funeral.

Each year at the Halloween party she dressed up like a witch. She made goodies for everyone to trick or treat at her table including- pumpkin spice sucker cookies- each one having a jack-o-lantern face in orange frosting, black licorice caramel, chocolate suckers, orange popcorn balls, an orange with a jack-o-lantern face painted on it, a little loaf of spice cake with raisins, spooky pretzels, and probably something else too. She worked so hard at this party to make sure we all had a great time and got to take home some pieces of her love.

She and Grandpa Fuddy served missions in Morristown New Jersey mission, Zimbabwe Zambia Mission, Samara Russia Mission, and a service mission teaching English in mainland China. The day I left on my mission, Grandma told me be the best, not just the best you can be, but be the very best. I thought about her when I was exhausted, cold, discouraged, feeling lazy, etc, and was given the drive to dig deep and give more than I knew I had. She inspired me to reach higher and turn my self completely over the the Lord.

Grandma made this quilt out of my Grandpa's old ties.

Here's a picture of her in Zimbabwe with the locals. Isn't her white hair so beautiful with all those natives?

She and grandpa saved all their spare change their whole lives as part of their emergency funds. She was able to give each grandchild one of these stars- (5 $100 bills) and rolled up coins with a note to remind us always to save our money for a rainy day.

After the evening viewing, the grandkids and spouses all practiced the songs Grandma wanted us all to sing- "I Often Go Walking." and "The Family is of God." Here's after practice.

The pallbearers were the 2nd sons (since the 1st sons were chosen for Grandpa's funeral).
