We planned a weekend trip mid August to hit Lagoon and go camping up Ogden Canyon. Our Lagoon trip was a definite success. We got to ride all our favorite rides, and it's always more fun when Daddy is with us too.
Devin got in the very long line to ride Cannibal. We rode lots of rides while he was in line, and while we were at the peak of the ferris wheel, we saw Devin still standing in line. We decided to go over and say hi to him when we got off, and found the family swap area where one parent can wait in line and the other one can wait with the kids, and then swap once the parent is off. Brilliant!
Scary music played while we waited and the girls were very concerned for their Daddy!
He's finally in line to ride!
After seeing that the safety harness is low on the hips and not on the stomach, I decided I'd go ahead and pretend I'm not 17 weeks pregnant and ride this crazy ride. Oh gosh, it was so crazy and fun although I did feel a little nauseous after.

This is one of my favorite parts of Myla's lagoon experience this summer. 80% of the time she's on the revolving rides, she waves with each resolution. It's so cute to me.
We cooled off for awhile at Lagoona Beach in the lazy river and kid zone. Devin got to sneak away for a few minutes and even got to ride one of the big slides!
We left Lagoon, ready for our next adventure and headed up the canyon.
It was super busy up the canyon and all of the campsites were filled up. An elderly campsite manager couple gave us a patch of grass to sleep on. The kids didn't seem to mind
After setting up camp, we went for a family walk to take in the scenery and it was gorgeous!
I love how excited our girls are to eat and sleep outside. It made the trip even more magical for all of us.
The next morning was a hot air balloon festival. We had a blast watching them fly all over the valley, and Devin enjoyed a moment to teach the girls about the science of hot air balloons.
We headed up to the top of Ogden Canyon to Causey Reservoir to float our little rubber raft around in the water. We loved it, well Myla loved it as long as she was in charge of the snacks. We fed the ducks, splashed each other, said hi to the faster/more experienced flotation devices that easily sailed by us, and Devin and I tried to master the oars and the stiff breeze without much success. All in all it was a beautiful weekend together.
