We went to this park that's like a little fair.  C was so excited about it at first...

She liked watching the train...

 But the whistle scared her and she seemed a little uneasy about the whole ride.

V was fighting hard to stay awake.

Finally Cambry found her love at the park: the Boats.  2 steering wheels, a flag, water, a bell to ding. Could life get any better than this?

March catch up

Whenever we ask her how old she is, she always puts up one finger... unless the camera is around.  So now that she's almost 2, it's finally documented!

Cambry's friend finally did something we never could- got her to get off the swings at the parks and down the slides, by holding her hand the whole way.

We moved Cambry to a big girl bed, which she's doing great in. She still likes crib time with V.

We had our friends over for dinner, and these silly girls just wanted to be in the pack n play the whole time. It suited the rest of us just fine.

Every Friday morning when Cambry hears the garbage truck coming down the street, she runs to the window to watch our trash getting picked up. 

So happy watching garbage truck lift our garbage and dump it in the truck.

Words can't describe Cambry's excitement for the garbage truck. So, here's a video.

St. Patrick's Day

Baby Steps St. Patrick's Day Breakfast: Clover pancakes, and green eggs that ended up looking like playdough.  Devin would not eat them here or there, he would not eat them anywhere! 

Maybe next year, I'll venture out a little more to celebrate.

6 Months

Vienna turned 6 months this week.  She is such a little darling angel in our home.  Here are some of the things we love about her:

• She has a smile for everyone, and most of the time is content and happy.
• She sucks her whole fist to soothe herself.
• She adores her big sister.  I never hear her giggle for anyone like she does for Cambry.
• She can get to wherever she needs by rolling. If I set her down on a blanket, 1 minute later she is across the room chewing on a book or toy she spied from the blanket.
• She has the strongest, bounciest legs and loves to be held so she can jump on our laps.  
• When I sing to her, she sings with me.  Sometimes she does it when I hold her while I'm talking on the phone (or saying the prayer in Relief Society).
• She sucks in her lower lip and looks like a grandma without her dentures.  
• She can entertain herself pretty well right now.  If she can't reach a toy, she finds her hand, foot, or ear to play with.
• She has the most kissable cheeks and neck and the most squeezable thighs and arms.  She has rolls on top of rolls.  She's wearing some 6-9 month old clothes, some 12 month.
• She makes our home so much more peaceful.  She has a calming influence on me, Devin, and Cambry, individually and collectively.

Spring Break

I knew we had a fire department close to our house, so I decided to put V in a stroller and walk over with C to it to check it out, not knowing it was almost a mile away. Seems closer when you're driving 50mph haha. We made it there just fine (the way back was a different story...).

Cambers gets so giddy whenever we see a fire truck drive by, and she was beside herself being so close to one. The firemen were just leaving, but they stopped, gave us a tour, and got Cambers a little firefighter in training sticker.  If only she liked attention from strangers...

Inside, she was very apprehensive (She looks like- Why did you put me up here, and what is all this crap?)

She was loving the big tires, hoses, and standing up on the back of the truck.  She wasn't loving that fireman touching her. V was just happy to be along for the ride.

Devin had spring break last week and we spent some time trying to find our back yard under all the leaves. Love a little manual labor. We have big plans for back here. With little wallets, we'll probably only get a little of it accomplished.

Yard work is a whole new ball game with babies.  Devin was a good sport carting V around with him.

I also had my Birthday and was pampered all day long! Since Devin was home all day, I got to sleep in till 8, go to the temple, not change a single diaper ALL DAY, work out without tripping over a child, shower (I never realized how big of a luxury it is with kids), go for a family trip to the park, and go on a date with my wonderful husband.  It was a perfect day.

Springtime at the Zoo

We had a great time at the zoo!  The animals are so active right now since its not blistering hot... weird! Cambry knows the sounds the animals make now so it was so fun to see her recognize the animals and make their noises.

Turtle High Fives

Lately, V has been doing this goofy grandma face where she sucks in her bottom lip.

I'd like to say she's pointing at bears, but she's actually pointing at the little waterfall in their exhibit. She was more facinated with that than the bears.

Cambers running from exhibit to exhibit... no small feat when each animal has more room to roam than most humans have.

She kept quacking at the flamingos.  It was so cute.  She was so happy when they started waking up and ruffling their feathers at her.

When we walked in the green house I realized how much I love my humidity and orchids.

Cambers LOVED the gorillas. 

After this pic was taken the lion woke up and roared so loud, the lions in Africa heard her. It was actually quite frightening and I was glad for the glass barrier.

I'm not sure if she was more excited to see the elephant or to be running in and out of the bush tent.

Here she is making some monkey noises.

At the end of that video when she is making a dog's panting sound, she is pointing to a little girl next to her. Don't know what that was all about.
