April Fools Day, Devin and I got to go skiing for our first and only ski trip of the year!! It's hard when you're finishing your PhD dissertation, and very pregnant, then job hunting and taking care of a new born to make lots of time to hit the slopes!! We were so happy to just get one trip though!
Meanwhile back at camp, Grandma and Grandpa took great care of our kids
We couldn't believe our good fortune, the day after hitting the slopes we got to go on a warm hike up Heugh's Canyon.
We spent ages throwing rocks into the stream right here. Simple pleasures.
Once again, Myla couldn't be bothered with shoes. We affectionately refer to her as Huck (Huckleberry Finn)
This was a great trail with different obstacles and scenery. Our feet and eyes were never bored. It was so great finding hints of spring peaking out. And hints of Brinton peaking out
Myla is off and on with her potty training success. This was an off day, so after her accident she was in a diaper with no change of clothes... which suited her just fine.
The girls found a great spot to stop for lunch and to throw more rocks and sticks in the stream.
Good day spouse!
Lion cub on Pride Rock
Cambry is just contemplating her "black and white power" (what she calls this outfit- which is by far her favorite outfit).
Devin taking the soggy diapered, tired toddler train down the mountain. How do those feet taste? that's a good dad.
Brinton taking in General Conference
This is how Myla fell asleep during conference. HA! that's amazing!
I was having a rocky morning and decided I better go find my happy place in the word of God... and then I found toothpaste inside my scriptures. Deep breaths! Deep, deep breaths.
Jess, Beck, and I went to temple square for our second annual temple square walk about and picnic. It was absolutely gorgeous!
So fun to play in the "snow" in the nice spring weather.
Uncle Lindz, who works at the church office building got to come down for a minute to visit. That's a wonderful man right there.
Grandma Beck caught Veena, Gweny and Cambers
Just me and Margs
Snuggled up Brinton
You've done well Great Salt Lake! We had a blast.
I had about 40 of these on my phone of Myla's eye. Showing off her beautiful eye lashes.
Cambry's the best big sister. She always wants to hold bear cub and help me out. She's a great little mama
Uncle Neal with C,V and M at Brinton's baby blessing.
Me and Baby B with Jess, Noelle and Angela
Great Grandma Avonel with her hundred and something posterity.

Airharts
Happy Little Brinton Dan in his blessing outfit.
😊😊 Cambry playing games with Brinton- making him a little ride in the box.
Such a big stretch from such a little guy!
Cambry and Vienna at CC, playing the air Tuba. ha!
Devin's Lab up at the U, with the mad scientist- David
Hard at work in the glove box with some killer nap hair
mid April, we planned a trip to Moab with some Airharts- Jordan and Margs' crew, Jamey and Miche's crew, Jess's crew, and Beck and Greg. The weather wasn't warm and sunny like we hoped, but we had so much fun hiking in our parkas. Our kids are really in their element in nature- it makes our hearts so happy.
We went on this hike to Corona Arch just our little family- and was one of the highlights of our trip.
We saw tons of cairns along the path. Myla wanted to make her own. Look how proud she is of her work.
Love my girl. She is so much work, and so worth it.
I think they were equally impressed with the stability of the cairns as I was with this gorgeous scenery.
Cairn carnival!
This part of the trail was so fun for all of us- the girls were so excited to go straight up the mountain. I realized- holy cow! We have kids old enough now that enjoy stuff like this! I loved watching these little mountain goats scale this.
Myla wanted to stand straight out like she was repelling!
My favorite guys! Since it had rained earlier in the day, this cool arch had little waterfalls coming out of it. Nature is incredible.
The scenery from up top was breathtaking
What the heck? I was just peacefully sleeping on Dad, and now what's happening?! Brinton is a great sport.
Veena is such a ham. She's always finding places to sit (regardless of scenery) and asking for her picture to be taken.
Hey! I found a piece of pizza! Eat it up Cambers!
We met up with the Airhart crew in town for burgers and fries.
We were staying in little tuff shed-like structures. All the kids met up in Jess's for story time by aunt Margaret.
After the kids went to bed, the adults met up for snacks and FARKLE. What a fun fun night!!
The next day was still chilly, with added wind to mix it up. It was a little tricky keeping our eyes open with the sand flying around in the air, but it kept it interesting and memorable.
Thank goodness for Devin for holding up this leaning tower!
We were missing some of the family for this one, so some of went on the hike to Double Arch, and some waited in the cars. When everyone met up, the hike was short enough, that everyone did it again.
Just under the arch, was a fun "bowl" to climb in. With a little protection from the wind, and not too much sand around to blow in our eyes, this was a GREAT playground and we stayed in here for quite awhile (both times).
Jordan peacing out
Oh and there were a whole bunch of boulders to climb on. Nature's playground!
Sister Arch! (pretty sure I just made up that name)
Woke up long enough to look around and smile. Brinton, you are so dreamy. That's a wrap of Moab!
One time our cousins Gweny and Watson were over. Since Myla only kind of likes Brinton, I was surprised that she wanted to "hold" Watson.
Aimee came into town from Missouri, so naturally all the Rappleye women needed to go to dinner. We met Noelle up in Layton. What a fun time we have together.
Sometimes I can't help myself- I have to creep!
Devin and I got to get out for a nice dinner at Devin's Department's award banquet.
Devin was given the award as outstanding PhD graduate. I'm so proud of him. He worked so hard on his PhD, and was able to publish some papers in journals, and won awards at conferences for his presentations or papers. These awards are all so wonderful, but my favorite part of Devin receives the littlest recognition, and that's how hard he works at being an outstanding husband and father. I really am so fortunate to have him!
This guy went on and on about Devin. He was so embarrassed!
Back to real life! Just Myla helping herself to breakfast. (beck wehs as she calls it)
Vienna's masterpiece... There was a piece of paper under there...
Stroller naps are probably better with siblings
Funny face time!
Myla's first choice in socks is almost always these big fuzzy thick pink striped socks.
But really, I never know what she's going to be wearing from hour to hour. hehe
