Airhart Reunion Day 5: Airplanes and Lighthouse

The clan explored the awesome Wright's brother's museum- the place where the first flight took place.  Pretty sweet glider

Family photo: Jos, Jess, and Great Aunt Amelia Earhart

My bro busted taking a pic of this amazing Permullet

This was the "sand dune" where Orville and Wilbur first flew. That spot in the distance is where they started their little plane.

The crew where it first lifted off

Devin and some others ran down to see if they could "fly" as fast as the airplane did. Because of some quality Parkour running, they didn't quite make it.

Made it to the top

After fun with planes, we traveled across town to the Currituck Beach Lighthouse.  It's one of the few still operating light houses.  So amazing

The surrounding area was so beautiful.  Devin took Cambers on a little Daddy-Daughter stroll around and said it was one of the highlights of the trip (maybe a little too much Airharting and not enough alone time for him??)

Later that afternoon- back to the beach naturally

We did some more sand castle making and and boogie boarding. What a great day!

  1. What a great reunion! I hope that our family will do just a Charles Rappleye reunion sometime that everyone can make it too, including Scott!!! I think that reunions are especially great when everyone is away from their home so that they are forced to spend time together-no excuses! Haha! It looks like you all had a fun time!
