Dinosaurs!

While we were at the zoo, I took Cambry to see the Dinosaur exhibit. It got off to a rough start. Cambry tripped and skinned her knee (see that little red spot). Poor girl. But, she eventually warmed up.

At first, she was really timid and this was the closest we could get and I had to be right by her.

Rightfully so, these dinos weren't the cute cuddlely cartoon critters that she had seen on Dinosaur Train. They were terrifyingly realistic

Eventually, we found some little ones and Cambry liked that and got right up next to them.

She even let me get more than a foot away from her while she and Caroline checked out the little dinos.

For the rest of the time, Cambry was a good sport despite still being slightly terrified by some of the larger dinos.

I thought this was a pretty neat display, but Cambry begged to differ. She put on a brave face as we walked briskly by.

She cautiously circled the giganotosaurus (no joke, that's what it is called) from a distance

There she is spotting one of her favorites. She got pretty excited about the dinosaurs near the end.

Then this guy came and spoiled everything. He sprayed poison (water) all over us. Cambry, already on edge, high tailed it out of there.

"That one's too spray-ee for me."

So, I directed her over to this sandbox to dig for fossils to help her recover. She made sure to keep an eye on that mischievous monster.

Cambry was pretty brave and a good sport for her silly Dad who thought it would be fun to take his timid daughter through a forest infested with giant terrors. She ended up having a good time... for the most part.

P.S. I tried to show this blog post to Cambry and said: "Cambry do you want to see the story that I wrote about the Dinosaurs." She replied: "I don't like that story."

  1. Cute Cambry! I love this post! Those dinos were pretty amazing! I meant to say on the zoo post that Vienna is so Ava, trying to tickle the wrestling baby chimps! That is something Ava would do!
