Devin's Graduation ceremony was a great milestone, and I'm so glad we decided to participate in it. I was so glad we got to take an afternoon to celebrate Devin and his accomplishments over the past 2 years. While the names of the graduates were read, the girls kept saying (at various degrees of volume) "Where's daddy? Is it daddy's turn? Daddy? Daddy?" Several minutes later, their daddy entered and the girls immediately began to run up to the front yelling "DADDY!!" We were on the second row, so it wasn't a great distance to him. Fortunately, Cambry got extremely intimidated by the big line of professors, and grabbed Vienna's hand and they both made their way back to their seats.
Clapping and cheering for Daddy
Afterwards, all the graduates got together for pictures, and Vienna couldn't wait any longer. She spotted Master Daddy, and sprinted over to him. Devin said it was a melt-your-heart dad moment for him.
In front of the Nuclear Engineering building
It was hard to keep the kids out of the photos
There is a beautiful little Arboretum right behind his building, that we snapped a few shots at. He took many breaks from the computer screen in this pretty little acreage.
This is Devin typing now. Didn't Joslyn do a great job taking these photos with kids nipping at her feet and with a camera that has been dropped a time or two?
I love this post!!! Way to go, Devin!!!!! Masters, check, on to the PhD! Who would have thought?? I love the picture of you in front of the Nuclear Engineering building and both your girls off to the side starring up at you! I was in tears! It could be in a magazine! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHaha, Noelle. I'm glad you liked the photo even though my eyes were closed.

YAY for graduation day!!! Congrats to the both of you. And that is super exciting about getting into the U and getting to go back close to family especially before the new little one arrives.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the graduation post. It made me wish even more that I could have been there. Is the red scarf thing (I know there's an official name for it, but I can't think of it right now) designate you as a Masters graduate? And the photographer did awesome! Those pictures of the girls almost stole the show from Devin.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the hood indicates that I am a Masters graduate. The red velvet is for the school and red and white silk inside is for my department.

Devin welcome to the sophisticated Wizards club! (The hood and the dangley sleeves give it away or at least that's what I thought I looked like) CONGRATS! I love the picture of Vienna running up to you and all of the other graduates looking and smiling wishing they had one running up to them.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Devin! What an amazing accomplishment. I can't lie, I teared up reading the post. What an adorable family you have.
